Dorothy Day Hospitality House

Temporary homeless shelter in Rochester, MN

The House is open to guests from 4 p.m. - 9 a.m. daily,  and dinner is served at 6 p.m. each evening. We also offer laundry facilities, coffee, snacks, and the trademark hospitality that has long been foundational to the Dorothy Day House experience. 

  • Beds are available to guests on a first come, first served basis

  • We require identification, sobriety, and a willingness to abide by the House Rules

  • Guests can stay up to 21 consecutive days and nights

  • There is no limit to the number of stays, however, the waiting time between stays is 2 months

  • We are open for visitors from 7-9 a.m. and p.m. daily

  • The house is open from 4 p.m. to 9 a.m. daily

  • Guest check-in is from 4-10 p.m. each evening​

  • We serve adults ages 18 and over

  • We have toiletries and some gently used coats and accessories available, if needed

  • Goods and services are provided to guests free of charge by our generous donors and volunteers
